Dr. Jeff Rutgard is again readying for another medical mission to Mexico. Dr. Rutgard will work hand in hand with a small band of Nuns from a local Catholic Hospital. As usual, they will work long hours guided by mercy, dedicated to serving the needy.
Rutgard devotes 100% of his time volunteering his and surgical skills to those suffering blindness around the world. Dr. Jeff is constantly invited by international organizations and foreign governments to perform these severely needed eye surgeries on the abundant poor. He holds the record for the most free eye surgeries, a record which won’t be broken any time soon, as his travel schedule stays “booked.”
Dr. Rutgard teaches and has taught his “Rutgard Technique” eye surgery in dozens of countries on most continents and throughout many remote islands. He is regularly invited and continues to teach both practicing physicians and those in training throughout the United States.
As an Adjunct Clinical Professor, Dr. Rutgard stated recently, “It is an honor to serve fellow human beings. Some of us hold the skills to cure blindness, and sharing those skills is the most precious gift we can give. My fellow physicians, nurses and missionaries bring compassion and kindness to all.”
We applaud Dr. Rutgard and his life of service by providing the gift of sight, worldwide.
